What the app includes

SaveSpace Photos supports photos and videos, with clear progress and result details throughout the compression flow.

Three compression presets

Choose Maximum quality, Balanced, or Maximum savings depending on the tradeoff you want.

Frequently asked questions

How do I compress media?

Tap Select media, allow Photos access, choose photos or videos, pick a compression preset, and tap Compress. Review the verified results before saving copies.

Where do saved copies go?

When you confirm, SaveSpace Photos creates or uses a Photos album named SaveSpace Photos and adds the compressed copies there.

Why was an item skipped?

An item is skipped when the encoded output would not produce meaningful storage savings. Other failures are shown separately in the results.

Will my original photos or videos be changed?

No. The app creates separate outputs and does not modify the original Photos assets.

What metadata is preserved?

Capture date, location, orientation, and standard camera metadata are copied where supported. Live Photo pairing, depth or portrait data, HDR or color-profile information, edit history, and proprietary metadata are not guaranteed.

How can I report a problem?

Please open an issue in the repository with your device or iOS version, the steps you took, and what happened. Do not include private photos or other sensitive information.

Privacy and data

SaveSpace Photos processes selected media locally on the device. It does not upload media to an external service. Photos access is used to choose media and, after confirmation, save compressed copies. The app’s privacy manifest declares no collected data and no tracking. Temporary source and output files are cleaned up as the workflow resets, is cancelled, or completes saving.
